My review of the film "Before the Flood"
After watching the film, I realised how much damage we are doing to our planet. I also realised that we are essentially hostages to this problem because a large percentage of people believe that global warming is just a figment of the imagination of scientists who have nothing better to do.
Every year, we can observe the destruction of the Earth through forests, glaciers, oceans, and even animals, which are unfortunately disappearing because of our obsession with great progress and trying new things for a better life.
This film really impressed me, and I would never have thought before that everything is so complex and interconnected.
Choosing an activist like Leonardo DiCaprio was a very good decision. People will be much more receptive to information on this issue, it's a guarantee. He is an influential and well-known person, not a scientist who not everyone knows.
Personally, I was struck by a moment at the beginning of the film when, in the Canadian Arctic, at the end of a scene showing penguins, the scientist said to Leo, ‘I don't want to live in a world without penguins.’ This scene seemed special to me at that moment and made me think. Indeed, what is the point of existing without animals?
Thanks to the film, I became more convinced that we need to be more sensible, spread these ideas to the masses, and do everything possible to preserve the Earth.
